At least there's a lot of people to...talk to here, when I'm bored. And conversations keep on coming back to the same subject.

Maybe just the time~ of year, or maybe because of the place, but I think it goes to show the kind of thing people waste time to think about. So many opinions and no two the same.

Tell me, City~. What's a monster?

Oh, the Church. A lot of them just call everyone who opposes them a monster.

Not really-just practical.

Even when they're right about things, they still get it backwards. Like with Dust. Or Lord Asriel.

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Part of that's because they're so afraid of anything that contradicts what they think they know. Which explains why they were all so terrified of Lord Asriel. That, and he absolutely hated them.

And that was before he did what he set out to do.

Well... About that, we both agree. And they don't want anyone else to know anything either.

He fought a war against The Authority God and won.

Not really.

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-28 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, he did. Is there something wrong with that?

Easier to fight them, maybe. Afterwards... it makes things trickier.

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it en't a bad goal. Why'd they think that, anyway?

What would be the point then?

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Typical.

Well, no, but if you knock something down... why not put something better in its place?

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Not if people remember.

Do you think the world's inherently evil? Or that it was ever pure, before?

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Don't tell me that you think Adam and Eve were real.I don't want any more maniacs trying to kill me.

Was it? Or maybe you just didn't notice the flaws.

People can't be inherently good or evil. Just actions and intentions.

I dunno either, actually. They're sort of a metaphor. Some people like to go on and on about original sin, though.

Maybe. When do you remember it being flawless?

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously. The Church thought so though.

... But... families have children and get bigger. And then eventually, the whole world is full of people again, and they're all still part of that family, en't they?

[identity profile] lyra-of-dust.livejournal.com 2008-10-29 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Try me.

And eventually end up at the same spot you started?
